Engage the Writer in Every Child: Close the Gap with Written Communication
Thursday, October 18, 2007 9:30 am - 10:30 am
How should handwriting be taught? How can handwriting instruction be integrated into modern learning environments? Are there solutions for students who struggle with written output? Amy Ford-Hebert, M.Ed. will provide answers to these questions through an interactive workshop. Participants will learn to identify key reasons students' work is illegible, will plan practical ways to help these students, and will become skilled at teaching handwriting through use of technology. Answers will be provided by using two unique programs: Conquering Cursive and Powerful Printing. These technology-based teaching and pencil-paper reinforcement tools will provide a complete teaching strategy to fit today's classrooms.
